Looking For Good Sound For Your Videos What You Must Do to Get the Best Audio Quality
You’ve probably noticed that “tinny” sound most home movies have, and the way the background sounds overwhelm the main subject. That happens when you rely solely on the built-in microphone of your video camera. It isn’t picky about what it hears, and the louder the source, whatever that is, the more it will be the main thing you hear. Plus your hands handling the camera, or the wind outside can create a lot of noise. Try taping a speaker on stage while diners around you are clinking forks and knives on dinner plates and you’ll know what I mean.
You’ve seen many videos out there that have sound issues and you may have clicked off because of that. To make sure your audio won’t turn a viewer off and leave your video you need better audio.
For better sound you need to add external microphones. The two types of microphones you need to consider purchasing are lavalier and shotgun microphones. They each have their purposes.
Lavalier microphones are placed on the “talent” and give a sense of presence. They will make a 200% improvement in the sound of the person speaking over a built-in mic. They can be wired or wireless. These are the mics you see clipped to the shirts of people being interviewed on television. These mics don’t have to be expensive: you can buy a simple lavalier mic at Radio Shack for $26.49 online. Even at this price, it is much better than your built-in mic.
Shotgun microphones can be used on the camera, on a boom pole or a mic stand. Contrary to what many people think, a shotgun mic does not amplify or reach out to get the sound in front of it. It works by ignoring the sounds to the side and behind it, to varying degrees depending on the design. These work great when you need to isolate a speaker or actor but cannot use a lavalier mic. You can spend thousands of dollars on a top end pro model, but good quality can be had in the $200 – $500 range.
To set yourself above the pack in your online videos, you need to have great audio. As any videographer will tell you, sound is half the picture and it is not that hard to get good sound quality.

Digital Camera Shopping Tips
I always enjoy gathering data for potential purchases, but nothing excites me more than coming away with a good deal on a quality product. This is particularly true when buying high ticket items like computers, audio/video equipment and digital cameras. Although a large part of my research includes reading online reviews and comparing technical specifications, I also understand the importance of a hands-on experience. After all, you can read product reviews and user opinions until you’re blue in the face, but none of it matters if you don’t actually feel the product with your own hands. Listed below in no particular order are my tips for buying a digital camera:
1. Research, research, research – Sometimes I feel as though the best part of buying a new product is the research component. I love nothing more than to feel as though I’ve purchased the best item within a particular product class, but I understand that research plays a large part in achieving that goal. There are 2 sources that I turn to time and time again when researching products – online forums and large online retailers like Amazon. Particularly if you’re looking for a common item like a digital camera, online forums can be a great place to exchange honest information with a community of enthusiasts. Amazon and similar online retailers also offer a wide variety of products within a particular niche, making direct comparisons easier. A side benefit is that you’ll be able to read unique and unbiased user reviews.
2. Identify your needs – only you know the types of photos you intend to take with your new camera and the features you wish to utilize. Be sure that the megapixel size, zoom range and feature set is suitable for your individual situation. In general, you will want a camera with at least a 4 megapixel resolution to produce high quality prints up to 5×7-inches. Of course, there are other factors that contribute to producing a great image such as proper lighting, steadiness of the camera and proper shutter speed.
3. Establish a price range – the last thing you want to do is to fall in love with a digital camera only to realize that it’s out of your price range. Establishing a price range up front will prevent you from over spending and will help you to narrow down your search. The great thing is that the price for digital cameras has decreased dramatically over the past several years. At the same time the quality and technology as improved greatly. It’s truly amazing what $150 can buy you nowadays.

LCD Vs LED
Entering 2009, the word “LED” emergences more and more frequent in front of us. Earlier this year, on the CES exhibition in United States, Samsung showed us a LED TV with the degree of only 6.5mm thin which is rated the world’s thinnest television. Then all the LED products rushed into the consumer electronics market, lots of manufacturers develop LED products fro a better sale. Besides most international brand gradually keep their focuses on this field. As a matter of fact, more and more electronic gadgets applied the LED or LCD technology to some extent such as MP3 Player, Mobile Phones Digital Camera, Notebook, and Projector, etc. well, the LED is on its way, is LDC on the contrary no more useful?
Which one is to get the top place? Here are some advantages and disadvantages of those two, why not make the right decision yourself! Compared with the LCD, LED have great advantages on brightness, consumption, and refresh rate, etc. it support a wide vision up to 160°angle and could display a variety of text, numbers and animation information, at the same time broadcast television, video, VCD, DVD and other color video signals. The LED technology widens the range of application for a thinner, brighter, clearer display. On the contrary, LCD is more frequently applied to outdoor large screen display for its lower resolution.
Talking about the cost, LCD is a little bit expensive in that the technology, materials and equipment applied were imported, and the liquid crystal display indeed smaller injury than the LED. Anyway, both of them have their respective pros and cons. It depend on your own requirement, what about your choice?
